Wow, What a Difference

It is now 834 days since Isla was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and she is now having her last chemo ever!

Everyone at Health Assist are so happy to see Isla come out the other end. It has been an extremely challenging journey for Isla dealing with childhood cancer and the horrific times she and her family has had to go through. At Health Assist we feel so privileged to be a part of Isla’s recovery and have full appreciation for what her parents have gone through as well. Pets home alone

What happens when your too ill to take care of your pets. Health Assist received an urgent call from a local hospital to request assistance. A new patient had been admitted leaving her two beautiful cats at home with no one to feed or care for them.

We thought it might be some kind of virus

We thought it might be some kind of virus, but then they told us she had Leukaemia

She was a bright, bubbly, fun loving little 3 year old, doted on by her brother and sister and adored by her mum and dad.  When she complained about having a sore tummy, they put it down to too much excitement, but then when she seemed to be getting sick all the time and was constantly tired and pale with unexplained fevers, her parents began to fear it might be something more serious.

Isla in hospital
